This is a piece I created for a friend of mine, someone whom I met in Second Life that immediately struck me as a wholly unique fur, instead of a relatively cookie-cutter image that's so common in that world full of pre-made furry avatars. Sure, her avvie was originally a modular piece like everyone else's, but the extent to which it has been modified, personalized, and customized amazed me. She is truly unique and carries herself as such. Those were the main reasons I felt compelled to create this image of her, not for commission, but rather as a gift.
Pencil on paper, using my trusty maroon .7 mechanical pencil, scanned into the computer for colorization and a few added effects in Photoshop. I was up in the air as to whether this piece should be considered traditional or digital; my school of thought is how the work was created originally, which in this case, was by pencil. So it's categorized as a traditional piece.
